Director
Case Highlights
Making law on short notice: As a very young lawyer, Randy was handed a case at the 11th hour. With virtually no preparation time, he devised and presented an argument that was the sole basis for an appeal that resulted in a reversal of the lower court’s ruling. It later became the seminal decision in Arizona on the enforcement of foreign judgments. That decision has become one of the most-often quoted decisions on that issue in the western United States.
Changing a judge’s mind: Randy opposed a noted bankruptcy lawyer in a dispute regarding whether notice was given to Randy’s secured-creditor client. The judge summarily ruled against Randy’s client, but the Appellate Court then remanded the matter back to the judge, requiring that he conduct a hearing on the merits. After hearing Randy’s arguments, the judge then reversed himself and ruled in favor of Randy’s client, ultimately saving the client hundreds of thousands of dollars.
Get To Know Randy In His Own Words
“I spend the time necessary to fully understand my client’s situation, so I can provide a variety of options—not only on the current pressing legal matter, but also to educate the client as to how to avoid similar problems in the future. This requires that I genuinely focus on their concerns and both their short-term and long-term well-being.”
“The practice of law allows me to utilize my intuitive skills to devise and implement pragmatic and oftentimes innovative approaches to what appear to be common legal problems. I’m very fortunate to be paid to solve puzzles that others cannot. And, during the course of my representation, my clients are willing to listen to my advice so they can solve similar problems in the future on their own.”
