PHOENIX, Ariz. (3/1/2019) – The law firm of Jaburg Wilk was pleased to be a sponsor of as well as volunteer at Swift Youth Foundation’s 2019 Carnival. More than 300 children attended the Swift Carnival in Northeast Phoenix on February 23, 2019. Employees of Jaburg Wilk and their families volunteered at the food court. They also helped children play both the duck match game and bowling.
Founded in 1980, Camp Swift was initially an annual overnight summer camp program, providing a camping experience to kids who would not otherwise have been able to afford it. The programs have evolved and expanded and now include Club Swift Jr., teen leadership, overnight camp, and Swift after School program. At their core, all of Swift Youth Foundation programs facilitate positive mentorship relationships between economically disadvantaged youth and college-bound teens.
Roger Cohen, partner at Jaburg Wilk, and Swift Youth Foundation Board Member, said “Their model of pairing a teen mentor with a younger mentee has been so successful. Both young people contribute to one another in empowering and meaningful ways.”
