Phoenix Attorney Appointed to National Subcommittee

PHOENIX, Ariz. (Oct. 30, 2013) – Maria Crimi Speth, an Equity Partner at Phoenix business law firm Jaburg Wilk has been appointed to the U.S. Subcommittee of the Anticounterfeiting Committee for the 2014-2015 term at the International Trademark Association effective January 1, 2014.
The International Trademark Association (INTA) is a not-for-profit global association of trademark owners and professionals dedicated to supporting trademarks and related intellectual property in order to protect consumers and to promote fair and effective commerce. Committee members work on various projects including policy development and advocacy, planning educational programs and events, developing online print and global trademark resources, cross-industry benchmarking and facilitating network opportunities.
"I am excited to work with this committee," says Speth. "The sale of counterfeit goods is a serious issue for brand owners and INTA has played a significant role in educating the public about the problem." Speth is the department head of the intellectual property group at Jaburg Wilk and has expertise in copyright law, trademark, trade name, internet law, and intellectual property litigation.
