Once again, we had the pleasure of assisting local girl scout Jaelah Thomas collect a variety of foods for the non-profit organization, Mom’s Pantry. Jaelah chose to host a canned food drive as her service project due to the severity of hunger in Arizona.
Mom’s Pantry is a local community food bank built on the bedrock of a single promise – that no man, woman or child – go hungry. “Since we opened in May of 2013 we’ve been able to distribute over 60,000 pounds of food to over 2,500 families in our community, said Food Bank Director Joe Martinez.” “This would not be possible without the faithful support of organizations like the Girl Scouts chapter that’s promoting our food drives. The collection of these nonperishable items is so vital! What will be pulled together through these food drives will directly impact families during this fall season. We are extremely proud of the Girl Scouts and their devotion to aiding organizations like ours.”
