Jaburg Wilk Supports Desert Mission Food Bank with Emergency Funding

Desert Mission Food Bank is facing critical shortages due to Covid-19 pandemic and reached out to Jaburg Wilk with an emergency funding request. For years, Jaburg Wilk employees have volunteered at Desert Mission Food Bank helping sort, box, pack foods and help food bank clients shop for food. However, since food from restaurants evaporated and food from grocery stores has been significantly diminished, Desert Mission was in desperate need of money rather than volunteers.

The Jaburg & Wilk Foundation fulfilled their grant request and donated $10,000.

Business attorney and managing partner of Jaburg Wilk, Gary Jaburg said “When we realized what a dilemma Desert Mission Food Bank was in from the spiking demand of food from people who were recently unemployed coupled with diminished food donations this was an easy decision for us and foundation. We know that the current community need is overwhelming for food banks.”

Desert Mission Food Bank provides emergency food boxes for individuals and families that are in crisis, food boxes for income qualified seniors, and infant emergency food boxes. The need for their services has increased significantly since the pandemic began.
