PHOENIX, Ariz. (August 20, 2022) – The law firm of Jaburg Wilk announced the formation of their ADR – Alternative Dispute Resolution Practice Group. Attorneys in this practice group are experienced arbitrators and mediators who assist parties with dispute resolution.
Arbitrators include Kathi Mann Sandweiss and Maria Crimi Speth.
Since 2016, Sandweiss has been an active commercial arbitrator on the roster of the American Arbitration Association, AAA. She is on the Executive Council of the Arizona State Bar Alternative Dispute Resolution Council and is a former Judge Pro Tempore for Maricopa County Superior Court in the Civil Division.
Speth is also a member of the AAA roster of Arbitrators and Mediators. Her legal expertise in intellectual property, coupled with her training and experience in software and technology, make her the ideal arbitrator or mediator for disputes involving IP and software development, ownership and licensing.
Mediators in the ADR practice group include Mervyn Braude, Roger Cohen, Lauren Garner, Tom Moring, Echo Reynolds, Carissa Seidl, and David Uffens. They are all either former or current Judge Pro Tempores for the Maricopa County Superior Court. The ADR group focuses on mediation related to family law matters, estates and probate disputes, and commercial dispute resolutions.
Braude has mediated divorces, parenting issues, and other family law matters. He is a Judge Pro Tempore for the Maricopa County Superior Court in the Family Law Division and is a certified family law specialist by the State Bar of Arizona.
Cohen has practiced litigation in Phoenix for over 45 years and has a broad array of experience in commercial matters, including business divorces, complex collections, and escrow liability matters. He is a former member of the State Bar Fee Arbitration Committee, and acted as mediator/settlement judge in his capacity as Judge Pro Tempore of the Maricopa County Superior Court.
Garner mediates probate and trust litigation cases as a Judge Pro Tempore for Maricopa County Superior Court in the Probate and Mental Health Division. She also serves as a settlement judge and was certified as a Circuit Court Mediator in Florida.
Moring is an experienced trial attorney with experience as both plaintiff and defense counsel. He has expertise in mediating and settling both civil and criminal matters.
Reynolds is a Judge Pro Tempore for the Maricopa County Superior Court and previously served as a Judge Pro Tempore for the Arcadia-Biltmore Justice Court. Additionally, she is an approved mediator for the Arizona Association of Realtors Buyer-Seller Dispute Resolution System.
Seidl was a Judge Pro Tempore with the Maricopa County Superior Court in the Family Law Division for several years. She holds her Certificate in Conflict Dispute Resolution from Mitchell Hamline’s Dispute Resolution Institute which has been consistently ranked in the top dispute resolution programs by U.S. News & World Report. Seidl mediates any type of family law dispute including divorce and parenting time disputes.
Uffens is a Judge Pro Tempore for Maricopa County Superior Court in the Family Law Division and is a certified family law specialist by the State Bar of Arizona. He handles mediations for all aspects of divorce, high conflict custody disputes both pre- and post-decree, and other contested family law matters.
