Michelle Hogan

Michelle Hogan is a former fraud prosecutor for the Arizona Attorney General’s Office and an experienced litigator who focuses on representing businesses, organizations, and individuals in complex commercial litigation, white collar defense, and privacy matters. Michelle leverages her investigative and analytical skills and experience to craft winning litigation strategy in defending white collar clients against civil and criminal charges and to litigate complex commercial disputes.

In the white-collar defense context, Michelle has advised and represented clients in successfully defending charges levied by federal, state, and municipal government agencies. Michelle advises grand jury clients of their rights and responds to subpoenas on behalf of companies and individuals. She has also successfully assisted victims assert their rights in state court and obtain restitution awards.   In a similar vein, she has conducted internal investigations for companies and tribal governments to investigate employees accused of criminal misconduct.

Given her background working for a governmental agency, Michelle has also assisted clients with navigating Arizona’s regulatory laws, including laws impacting political action committees, commercial vehicle dealers, and professionals. In this context, she has successfully defended companies and individuals accused of violating those regulations before the Arizona Board of Accountancy and the Department of Transportation, Executive Hearing Office.

Finally, Michelle regularly assists businesses respond to data breaches involving unauthorized access to employee or client personal information. She helps businesses determine their notification obligations under applicable state and federal law and provide assurance to affected individuals that the response to the incident has been appropriately handled. As to websites and data processing agreements, she can efficiently ensure that they comply with the worldwide patchwork of privacy laws.
